Be careful what you carry about with you

A leading UK insurance company has highlighted the value of items that the average Brit carries around, adding that many do so without any form of protective insurance risking substantial financial losses should something happen. The research, carried out by Zurich, showed that an alarming number of people take expensive items and gadgets around with them, including jewellery, mobile phones, handheld games consoles, and more.

When carrying around this type of property consumers may be at risk from accidents, losses, or theft, all of which could result in financial losses if there is no insurance in place to protect your items against this sort of eventuality. One spokesman from Zurich stated: "It's not until people actually sit back and think that they realise how much in total they have on them. People should be aware of the value of what they have."

According to the figures from the insurance company those aged thirty five years and over tend to carry around the highest value worth of items, with many carrying around an average of £950 worth of gadgets and items. Those aged under thirty five were found to carry around an average of £850 worth of items and gadgets. Insurance experts pointed out that loss, damage, or theft of such high value items can cause both stress and financial damage, and having appropriate insurance in place can at least help to reduce the financial implications.

A number of insurance companies will be able to offer adequate cover on the type of items that many consumers carry around, and it is advisable to compare a number of policies based on your pocket and the value of the items that you tend to carry. You can then find a policy that provide adequate cover and fits in with your budget.
