The fiftieth birthday celebrations of the popular Premium Bonds is still enjoying great success, with many people in the UK flocking to take out bonds in the hope of becoming a big jackpot winner. Since the start of the fiftieth birthday celebrations over six and a half billion pounds has been invested in Premium Bonds by UK savers that want to grab a chance at becoming a millionaire. Last October alone saw the largest level of Premium Bond purchases on record, with over two billion pounds worth of bonds being sold in that month alone.

Many consumers have been tempted into taking out Premium Bonds because of the increase in million pounds jackpots that have come about as part of the birthday celebrations. This month there will be five one million pound draws instead of the usual one, which means that five lucky bondholders will have the chance to become millionaires. There is now over thirty six billion pounds invested in Premium Bonds, so this draw will see record levels of bonds going into the draw.

With around twenty four million savers on board, Premium Bonds are enjoying great success. The draw that took place last December also made five bondholders into millionaires, and the same will happen this month. One official from premium Bonds stated: 'The past eight months have seen a huge surge of interest in Premium Bonds. Despite being launched 50 years ago, they continue to attract new customers. In just the last eight months, over half a million people have begun saving in Premium Bonds for the first time. The anniversary draws, combined with the ease of investing online have appealed to old and new customers alike.'
