Many still not happy with their broadband service

A recent survey has shown that although the popularity and take up of broadband services have rocketed recently in the UK, there are still many people that are very unhappy with their Internet Service Providers – although many fail to take any action by switching to another service provider. Lack of satisfaction with Internet Service Providers results from a range of factors, including customer service, technical service, and billing, amongst others.

Broadband operators have increased in the UK over recent years, and as a result of this consumers are able to benefit from higher speed and lower prices on broadband and bundle packages. This has contributed to a rise in the number of people using broadband, but has also had a knock on effect on satisfaction levels, which have fallen as the number of broadband users has risen.

The survey indicated that there was a sharp drop in satisfaction levels during the first quarter of this year when it came to broadband providers, and also that both TalkTalk and Orange had high numbers of dissatisfied customers, both reaching over 30%. The report also indicated that the main reason why many dissatisfied customers failed to take action by switching their broadband service provider was due to the possibility of disrupted service and inconvenience.

However, UK regulators recently brought in improved regulations that will ensure that those that decide to switch broadband providers will not have to put u with high levels of disruption, which should help to make moving easier for those that are not happy with their existing service provider. Consumers are also warned to check whether the price difference between individual services and bundled packages is worth the possibility of lower levels of service, which are often linked to bundle deals.
