Broadband offers even more exciting freebies
March 2, 2008
In the UK there are now many different communications companies offering some great deals on broadband, and competition amongst broadband providers has really increased over the years. As these broadband providers compete to try and get as much custom as possible within the UK, many have been trying to think of new and exciting ways to tempting customers into signing up for a broadband contract.
In the past some companies have offered low key freebies, such as free upgrades and free trials periods. However, two broadband providers have taken the concept of incentives to a whole new level. Both Orange and AOL are now offering new customers a free laptop computer worth between £300 and £500 for signing up to a two year broadband deal with them.
Orange was the first to offer the free laptop deal, and having teamed up with computer specialist PC World, is now offering a laptop worth £300 to customers that sign up to a two year broadband contract at £14.99 per month – the first three months of the contract will also be at half price. AOL has followed hot on the heels of Orange, and has teamed up with Carphone Warehouse to offer customers a laptop worth £500 for signing up to a two year deal at £19.99 per month.
Experts are stating that consumers should be aware that they laptops are not top of the range, but are suitable for novice users and those that do not need a hi tech model. Consumers are also warned that if they take up the offer they will be tied in to the contract for two years, and should carefully consider whether they want to do this in exchange for a laptop.
